Architecturally, the amenities throughout the community reflect a massing and purpose that honors and embraces the Lowcountry, and our island in particular. Approachable. Nothing overbuilt. Gentle rooflines, wide porches, natural materials, textures, and scale. In the perfect world, you'd find just such a collection of buildings conceived to facilitate activity, engaging the water but also making sure that people connect effortlessly. This once happened organically, and now, will so again.
The RESTAURANT
The abiding character of Kane is one of community — kindred spirits gathered in appreciation of this special place. Here is our place to come together, celebrate, and enjoy the bounty of the harvests fresh from our farm, and perhaps something you caught this morning.
GATHERING HALL
Here we hydrate our souls with the music of the marsh, separating ourselves from the noise of the modern world. There is also physical wellness — fitness, yoga and mindfulness practices. All this finds a home here, overlooking the pool to the marsh beyond.
THE OUTFITTERS
The base camp for fishing, beach excursions and cruising Lowcountry marshes, rivers and bays will be the Outfitters Cabin — stocked with the essentials, including the most important, advice on what’s biting and where.

The built environment, surrounded by the ecology here at the edge are the frame of the photograph, and then we paint the interior with traditions — foods, gardens, music and art.
As the community takes root, food, music, art — those become the salt and pepper of life here. We imagine, and are fashioning Kane as a place to create, whether it’s design, music, or art. In that way, Kane Island can be an incubator, ensuring traditions are not only preserved but reimagined and carried forward for the next hundred years.

Appropriately, designs are approachable, echoing the historic architectural vernacular of the Lowcountry — gentle roof lines, wide porches, and a decided lack of formality.
We'll harvest from our gardens and from the water making life here literally farm-to-table.

Life at Kane Island will be as much on the island as on the water — for few places on Earth engage so completely. The base camp for fishing, beach excursions and cruising Lowcountry marshes, rivers and bays will be the Outfitters Cabin — all the essentials and conveniences to make the most of the abundant diversity that surrounds our island.
